ROAD TRIP!

To begin with these pictures were all taken by Dawson and traveling party. I edited out all of the pictures that boys think are funny and moms think are gross.

This week has been an adventure. Sunday night at 9pm Grandpa Butch and Dawson decided to take a road trip to Yellowstone. Butch had been aching to take a road trip in his model A and decided to take all the older boys. Monday morning Dawson had packed himself a backpack with everything he thought he would need for this spontaneous roadtrip. Butch calls at 10am and tells me they are ready to go! I had questions that could not be answered. Questions like when will you return home were met with answers like when we get home. Then there were food concerns, sunblock and toothbrush reminders. All to no avail. These were "MEN ON A ROAD TRIP!"

The first day I get a disturbing call from Dawson. He is screaming that they have been in a wreck! NOT FUNNY BOYS!!!! Next call was to inform me they had all purchased cool shades and Dawson is now thinking of starting a shade company. I get a call that Grandpa had just won $100 in a slot machine. I told Dawson that this was dirty money and not to spend it. He laughed at this and hung up on me. That night at 10:30 I get a call that they are having a blast and are trying to find a movie on paperview at the hotel. I then express my concern about adult supervision on selecting a movie. "Is Grandpa helping you decide on this movie?" I ask. Dawson replies, "Don't worry mom everything is under control! Grandpa is sleeping. Love you, Bye!".....Click!

The next few days I recieved the 2 minute to let your mom know you're alive promised call. The scariest day for me was when they called to tell me that they were in Jackson Hole and thinking of going white river rafting the next morning! No sleep for a mother that night.

They had a blast!!! Dawson says with no shirts on they waved at passing strangers as they danced in the back of the model A. They picked nick names for each other and listened to Grandpa's stories. Dawson said they had lots of honks and waves. One girl even asked if she could honk the horn. No wonder these guys loves this old car so much it's a lady magnet! Dawson says it's not the car it's the guys in the car.

These are good memories! Butch you are such a cool Grandpa! These boys will love you forever! YOU ROCK!!!!!
