Mother's Day 2008

What a wonderful Mother's Day! I am so spoiled! What great kids I have! I woke up to breakfast in bed. Muffins, OJ and scrambled eggs! Then all the sweet cards and kisses! It is so nice to be appreciated. As I was looking at my treasures Garrett snuggled next to me and said, "Mom the animals are saying thanks to their moms today, right?" I giggled and then realized it was a sincere question. Yes, probably I said. I think today is for all mothers. Maybe even animal mothers. One more reason why I love being a mom! The fun questions!

Mother's Day Loot!

Cecily's Mother's Day Flower was wrapped in a description of me.

Why does it make me laugh?

Garrett has the most amazing Sunday school teachers! They do something sweet for every holiday! This was the note on the flowers Gar Bear brought home from church. I loved, loved, loved the "BIG" smile on his face when Garrett gave me his presents!

This is the book mark Garrett made in preschool. He came home and couldn't wait until Mother's Day to show it to me. After I gave him a big hug and thanked him he took it up to his room and put it under his bed until Mother's Day. He said just pretend you didn't see it yet.

Mckennah made me a wonderful neck warmer! It was so sweet! Mckennah is so thoughtful!

I am so blessed to have two examples of Great Mothers! Both my mom and my mother- in -law remembered me on Mother's Day. How embarrassing that I didn't make it to the post office with my mom's card. It was one of those music ones that sang, "YOUR UNBELIEVABLE!" So I called her and played it to her over the phone. I do get to spoil her when she comes to visit in a few weeks. I hope to make it up to her then.

My mom really is unbelievable! She is my super hero! I am amazed at how much service she gives! As a young mother she always found (or made) time to serve not only her 7 children but so many others! I look back in awe at what she accomplished?! Now as a mother myself I am still inspired as she tirelessly flies to all of her children's homes and spends sometimes weeks taking care of grandchildren. When I have question about how to help one of my children I know who to call for help. She is a source of information and always a source of strength and comfort to me. The best advice she always gives is, "Don't forget to pray about it." I am always comforted knowing she is praying for my challenges too. She is a rock for me! She has taught me by her example that when life gets too hard to stand .... I can kneel. I love you mom for being my best friend!
